All aspects of your music production flow together in the console. That's why it has to be dependable, flexible and noise-free on the one hand and affordable on the other. You want to connect as many signal sources as possible, so you need flexible routing. You want a generously outfitted talkback section for communication with the artists. At mixdown, you want to hook up several headphones, feed lots of effect units, monitor all signal levels and insert compressors, noise gates and other outboard gear to process individual signals and the stereo sum. We built the EURODESK to offer transparent, musical audio quality, which preserves the soul of your music, and to capture and reproduce the magical moments of your performances. The ultra-low noise, acoustically transparent console from BEHRINGER® We use extremely low-impedance circuitry and 4580 operational amplifiers. So you hear music – not noise. We recommend that you compare the EURODESK to any other console on the market and let your ear – plus, if you like, your testing equipment – decide. Quality and inspiration The inspiration you need to create a first-class mix can only come if you're using the right tools. It was inspiration that moved us to build the best BEHRINGER console. Inspiration from you – the user and most important part of the BEHRINGER team. Ideas from numerous friends as well as several of the world's top engineers went into the design of the EURODESK MX9000. What quality means to us We prefer facts to fancy words: fiberglass circuit boards, high-quality encapsulated potentiometers, gold-plated connectors, logarithmic Panasonic faders, selected components and a solid steel chassis. We give you state-of-the-art technology that you appreciate. It's no coincidence that we – with your help – have become one of the leading companies in the audio industry. How would you quality control your own console? A console contains hundreds of controls, numerous connectors and a multitude of routing possibilities. If you had the chance to choose a console from a production run, you'd probably spend a lot of time checking every switch, button and fader. We put each EURODESK through a two-hour automated test procedure before it's OK'd for shipping. All signal paths and functions are tested with a precision audio testing system. This control phase guarantees top quality. You can fully concentrate on your work – around the clock – and rely on your EURODESK MX9000. Why our microphone preamps can't be heard Each channel in the EURODESK features a microphone preamp based on conjugate-pair high-current transistors. This gives you entirely natural sound with almost immeasurable distortion and massive headroom. What comes in comes out – amplified, but not colored. The gold-plated XLR input connectors can also carry +48 V phantom power – naturally switchable – to your valuable condenser microphones. The MIC/LINE switch allows you to choose between the balanced microphone input and the balanced line input. Each channel is additionally fitted with a third input: the MIX B or TAPE RETURN input. Although originally for multi-track tape return signals, this input can also be used for line-level signals, like MIDI keyboards, samplers or drum machines during mixdown. The FLIP button routes the MIX B input to the main channel strip and the MIC/LINE input to the MIX B channel strip. The ultra-musical equalizer The 4-band constant-Q equalizer is permanently assigned to the main channel strip. Each band is capable of a generous 15 dB of boost or attenuation. Two semi-parametric bands give you extreme flexibility between 50 Hz and 20 kHz. Two shelving EQ's at 80 Hz and 12 kHz, respectively, allow gentle frequency shaping for warm lows and crisp, clear highs. Each channel strip also features a switchable low cut filter for removal of low-frequency noises. The entire EQ is switchable, making A/B comparisons a piece of cake. Flexible auxiliary paths: anything is possible The auxiliary sends are switchable to pre- and post-fader operation in pairs, allowing you to create a fader-independent, multi-channel monitor or headphone mix or feed effect devices with a post-fader signal. The MIX B channels can also access auxiliary sends 3 to 6 via the source button.
MIX B: a console in the console Each of the MX9000's MIX B channels sports a dedicated EQ with two shelving filters at 80 Hz and 12 kHz respectively. Each band allows 15 dB of boost or attenuation. This enables you to use the MIX B channels as additional line inputs and still have equalization. In addition, each B channel features its own PAN/LEVEL pot and – very important – a MUTE button. The latter especially improves the flexibility and functionality of the MIX B section. An additional advantage is the source switching ability. Activating the MIX B SOURCE button routes the main channel signal pre-fader to the MIX B inputs. This gives you an additional stereo monitor path. All MIX B channels are routed to a separate stereo bus – the MIX B bus – with a dedicated level control and output. This allows you to use the MIX B section as a completely independent 24/2 console. Last but not least, the MIX B TO MAIN button routes the MIX B sum to the main mix. Fully outfitted channel strip Especially at mixdown, you'll appreciate the way you can control levels with the logarithmic, super-smooth 100-mm faders. Quickly cutting a channel with the MUTE button or pre-fader monitoring a signal with the solo button allows you to work effectively. The PAN pot ensures accurate signal positioning in the stereo image. Signal presence LED's give you instant information as to whether a signal is present or overloading the channel. The integrated meter bridge can be switched between main channel and MIX B inputs; its multi-segment LED displays react quickly to peaks in the program material and are frequency-independent. The EURODESK keeps you MX-9000constantly in the picture as to the status of all signals. EURODESK MX9000: completely ingenious - ingeniously complete! |
